Janelle (she/her) will begin by asking about the reason for your visit and any areas of concern. She will review the intake form you filled out, which includes your medical history, to check for any contraindications or to gather additional information needed to determine if massage is the appropriate treatment for your needs.
You are welcome to specify any areas you'd like to avoid or if you'd prefer to remain clothed in certain areas, based on your comfort level. Sensitive areas will always be properly draped.
Janelle may suggest specific areas for treatment and may assess your range of motion to better understand the cause of any dysfunction. After each area is treated, hot towels will be applied to enhance relaxation.
If you are sensitive to scents or essential oils, please let Janelle know either on the intake form or prior to your session.
Before the session begins, Janelle will leave the room to allow you time to disrobe and settle beneath the sheets, starting face down. She will gently knock on the door to ensure you’re ready before she enters.
The treatment will involve a combination of light to medium strokes, targeted pressure, and passive stretches. The session will begin with light pressure to warm the muscles, gradually increasing as the muscles respond. Deeper pressure is only applied when necessary and based on the muscle’s response to avoid discomfort such as bruising or soreness.
Before you leave, Janelle will remind you to stay well-hydrated and may offer stretches or exercises tailored to your condition. She will also discuss the recommended frequency of future treatments, depending on your specific concerns.
